Trip to the Marble Arch Caves

24th Apr 2023

Miss Reehill’s & Miss Gray’s classes went on a trip to the Marble Arch Caves, set in the picturesque foothills of Cuilcagh Mountain, just a short journey from the island town of Enniskillen in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.

The landscape encompassing the Marble Arch Caves was formed over 340 million years ago. Today this natural environment of caves, rivers, mountains, ancient woodlands, waterfalls and gorges offer an opportunity for the children to enjoy the incredible range of activities.

The children had a wonderful opportunity to explore the History, Geography, Science curriculum with hands on experience. We even came across the Red Sea & Moses as well as the Simpsons while we were exploring the caves.

We were so lucky to be able to explore the McGrath’s cottage where their cattle lived in their home with them, while they had to sleep up in the attic.
