Active Week Day 1
The sun shone for a fantastic first day of Active School Week. Thank you to Fr.Sean and Mrs. Marie Kenny, Chairperson of the Board of Management for launching our Active School Walkway along with Mr. Mollaghan and our Active Schools Committee. We have been using this Active Walkway for our "Run Around Ireland" Challenge which we have been completing for the last three weeks. Lots of classes have covered many kilometres and this is the last week of it. Huge thank you to Mr. Reliable Gerry Rowley on helping us put up the Active Signs around the walkway. Our 5th and 6th classes successfully completed their Spinathon all day. Huge thank you to Ryan Francis for the lend of the bikes for the day. There will be some tired legs later this evening. In connection to Longford Sports Partnership, Parkour will be with us for the week where children will be given different challenges testing their fundamental skills. Some classes began this today and really enjoyed the challenges set. Thanks to Donal and all the lads at Longford Sports Partnership for their cooperation. Lots of classes and their teachers began practicing their Jersulaem Dance Challenge also. We look forward to the end product. We will not give away any spoilers!!! Well done to all the children and teacher
