Thursday's Active Challenge comes to you from our very own Marie Carrigy. Marie is a native of Ballinalee in Co.Longford but played and captained our Killoe Senior Ladies to League and Championship titles down through the years. At all times, Marie showed excellent qualities of leadership, ambition and pride in her club and county. Marie has 13 years service in Óglaigh na hÉireann and has been a member of the Cavalry Corps on three tours with the UN, in Lebanon, Syria and Congo. On Easter Sunday 2021, Captain Marie Carrigy of the Defence Forces read out the Proclamation outside the G.P.O. as part of the state commemoration marking the 105th anniversary of The Easter 1916 Rising. We are so proud of Marie and she has set us a lovely task for you to do with your family at home.
